Akiha Shrine

The deity enshrined on Mt. Akiha’s summit is considered to be the god of fire. This shrine is believed to been established in 709. Influenced by the Ryobu Shinto doctrine that developed in Japan in the medieval period, it was named Akiha Daigongen. Worshippers have a strong religious faith in the deity enshrined here as the god that provides protection from fires.
