Verkehr Museum (Shimizu Port Terminal Museum)

”Verkehr” is a German word that means ”transportation” or ”interchange”. This museum displays elaborately crafted models of ships at the Shimizu Port and tools used for working at the port to highlight the importance of a seaport as a meeting point for humans and the sea. You can learn the history of the Shimizu Port, as well as the history of relations between humans and the sea through various documents. In addition to the permanent exhibits, the museum also has several short-term exhibitions through the year.
