Cape Kogane

The cliffs facing Suruga Bay. Lava that flowed into the ocean from the volcano of Mt. Nekko has been eroded and carved by the elements, and the surface of the stones is a shining golden brown. The view of Mt. Fuji floating above Suruga Bay is excellent, and is particularly lovely when the rocks reflect the sunset. A paved walking path takes visitors through the coast and pine forests. There is a monument here carved with a phrase from Mishima Yukio’s Play of the Beasts.
